Senior AccountantHanes Companies in Winston Salem, NC is seeking a Senior Accountant. Hanes is a division of Leggett & Platt Inc. and has over 50 locations in North America. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the execution and integrity of core accounting processes, including month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger activity. This role ensures accurate, controlled, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting while supporting audits and driving continuous process improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute month-end close with accuracy and timelinessMaintain and analyze general ledger activity, including journal entriesPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations with proper supportEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policiesSupport internal and external audits, including documentation preparationMaintain strong internal controls over financial reportingIdentify and resolve discrepancies to improve data accuracyPartner cross-functionally to improve data qualityDrive continuous improvements in accounting processes and toolsKey CompetenciesDetail-oriented and highly organizedStrong ownership and accountabilityProcess-driven mindset with focus on improvementAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAnalytical and problem-solving mindsetQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3–5+ years of accounting experienceStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accountingExperience with month-end close and financial reportingProficiency in ERP systems and ExcelHanes Companies is a people-first organization dedicated to providing a complete benefits package for our employees and their families.
