Geotechnical Engineer

Geotechnical Engineer Job Location: US-MA-Raynham (option to work out of Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA). Overview As a Geotechnical Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC), you will lead geotechnical subsurface investigations for real estate development, manufacturing, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, natural gas, and public infrastructure projects. Your work will include coordinating and monitoring subsurface drilling, obtaining soil and rock samples, preparing boring logs and laboratory testing programs, interpreting laboratory data, performing geotechnical analyses, and producing comprehensive geotechnical reports. You will also conduct construction materials testing and support earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, and pavement construction projects. Responsibilities Plan and supervise subsurface drilling and sampling operations. Prepare boring logs and laboratory testing programs. Interpret laboratory and field data to perform geotechnical analyses. Draft and deliver detailed geotechnical reports. Conduct construction materials testing for earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, and pavement projects. Assist with construction monitoring and quality control activities. Collaborate with project teams to provide geotechnical solutions that support community development. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field (Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus). Previous internship experience required or at least 1 year of consulting experience. Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification is a plus. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for assignments (approximately 50%). Strong quantitative, mathematical, and analytical skills. Ability and willingness to participate in field work. The compensation range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000, based on experience and education.
