Step into an impactful role supporting a high-needs student at the post-secondary transition level. This contract paraprofessional position is located near Portland, OR, offering the opportunity to make a difference each day in a collaborative educational setting. Work alongside a dedicated special education teacher and another paraeducator, ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment for students.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous paraprofessional experience in a school setting highly preferred
• Ability and willingness to work 1:1 with a high-needs student
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
• Ability to support students’ academic, functional, and behavioral needs
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the job, including bus transportation to and from school alongside the student each day

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a high-needs student at the post-secondary transition level
• Accompany the student on the school bus for transportation to and from campus
• Assist in daily classroom activities under the guidance of the special education teacher
• Support the student’s individual learning needs, including academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Communicate regularly with the educational team to monitor progress and implement effective strategies
• Foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere that encourages independence

This role offers regular hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing structure while allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the life of a student.
