Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and improving material handling equipment, automated packaging and distribution systems, and pneumatic systems within a high-volume operations facility. You will use your mechanical, electrical, and controls knowledge to keep equipment running safely and efficiently, while also mentoring junior technicians and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems throughout the facility.
• Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyor systems and sorters.
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, robotics, and automation systems using mechanical and electrical skills.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to guide repairs and installations.
• Apply maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning practices to organize and prioritize work.
• Use control systems and data analysis to identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
• Demonstrate and adhere to safety standards at all times, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Mentor junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safe work procedures.
• Support maintenance supervision and collaborate with operations teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including projects related to automation, risk management, and process optimization.

Essential Skills

• Experience with conveyor systems and material handling equipment (MHE).
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and related components.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills for mechanical and electrical issues.
• 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment, automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment.
• 2+ years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 2+ years of demonstrating and following safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
• 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE).
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
• 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of automation systems and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with robotics in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Understanding of project management principles in a maintenance or operations setting.
• Exposure to Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for maintenance tracking.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large operations and distribution facility that relies on automated packaging, conveyor systems, robotics, and advanced material handling equipment. You will work shifts that may include SundayWednesday or WednesdaySaturday with start times at 5 a.m., 7 a.m., 5 p.m., or 7 p.m., and you must be able to work a flexible schedule that can include weekends, nights, and holidays. The position requires standing and walking for up to 12-hour shifts and the ability to move up to 49 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. The environment emphasizes safety and protective equipment, including lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes, while working around automated machinery, electrical systems, and pneumatic equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Breinigsville, PA.

The pay range for this position is $71344.00 - $71344.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
