About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7P-7A Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Intermediate/PCU level of care experience: 1 year If only Med/Surg experience, must have 2 years with some PCU experience. First-time travelers must have completed at least 2 assignments of 13 weeks each. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS AACCN (preferred) CCRN (preferred) Must-Have: Trauma experience; experience with Stroke patients including performing Q2H neuro checks. Experience in Medical/Surgical procedures such as managing high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and wound care. Experience with trached patients on vents, including administering 100% FiO2 via suction support and silence alarms. Ability to perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage cardiac drips. Description: Immediate start needed. Must have experience with trauma level 2 patients. Patient population includes neuro strokes, stable craniotomies, respiratory illnesses, and post-operative care. Patient types include cardiac patients, CHF, AFIB, and post cardiac procedures. Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 and Tech: 1:6-12, dependent on staffing. Charge nurse may have patients if needed. Resource Nurse available 24/7. Floating to ED, ICU, CCU may be required based on assignments. General hospital orientation followed by unit-specific orientation. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. May be subject to low census callback. Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs. Professional scrub color is required. Charting system is preferred to be Cerner. IV therapy and PICC/Midline placement support available. CNA available for support with a ratio of 1:6-12. Pulmonary therapy support is available 24/7. Availability of hospitalist services 24/7.
