About the Role

Sunrock is hiring an Asphalt Distributor Operator to operate and maintain an asphalt distributor truck used in road construction, paving, and heavy civil projects . This role is essential to the paving crew and involves spraying asphalt tack coat, seal coat, and liquid asphalt materials on highways, roadways, and construction sites.

This is a hands-on, field-based CDL driving role for someone experienced in construction trucking, paving operations, or heavy equipment operation .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt distributor truck safely and efficiently
• Apply liquid asphalt / tack coat / emulsion to road surfaces
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Complete required DOT and company safety reports
• Conduct basic truck maintenance (greasing, fluid checks, upkeep)
• Follow OSHA, MSHA, and company safety standards
• Support paving crew operations when distributor is not in use
• Work outdoors in road construction environments

Required Qualifications

• Class B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Tanker Endorsement
• HazMat Endorsement
• Experience operating construction trucks or heavy equipment
• Ability to work long shifts (8–14 hours)
• Ability to work in outdoor construction environments

Preferred Experience

• Asphalt distributor operation
• Road construction or paving crews
• Seal coat / tack coat application
• Heavy civil construction
• Highway or DOT project work

Physical & Work Environment

This is a physically active construction job that includes:

• Standing, climbing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Working around heavy machinery
• Exposure to weather, noise, dust, and vibration
