POSITION SUMMARY
This position is primarily field-based, with work conducted onsite at purchasing locations. Work schedules will vary based on tidal conditions and seasonal changes. The role requires strong mathematical skills, the ability to accurately handle and balance cash transactions, and clear, legible recordkeeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Coordinate with managers and operators for scow or skiff operations needed for purchasing shellfish or finfish.
- Responsible for accurately reconciling cash balances before and after scheduled purchasing activities, and coordinating cash requirements with management in advance to support upcoming purchasing operations.
- Ensure that all weighed amounts accurately match recorded quantities on balance sheets and fish tickets, and that all payments issued correspond precisely to documented amounts.
- Ensure that all purchased product is properly handled, stored, and transported throughout the purchasing process and delivery to the facility, maintaining product quality and integrity under all weather conditions.
- Operate all vessels, vehicles, and equipment safely and appropriately during the purchasing process, and ensure that they are properly secured, stored, and maintained in good working condition following use.
- Safely transport harvesters to and from designated harvest sites, ensuring compliance with all established safety policies and procedures.
- Promptly report any damage, incidents, or accidents that occur during purchasing activities or throughout the work shift, in accordance with company reporting procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Develop and maintain proficiency in the use of GPS and radar systems to safely navigate in all weather and environmental conditions.
- Maintain awareness and sensitivity to Native American Culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
· Must know or learn all navigation routes to and from harvest sites.
· Must know or learn within 3 months of hire date to operate a 40’-55’ vessel using GPS and radar.
· Knowledge of procurement standards including safety protocols.
· Cash management proficiency for accurate accounting.
· Conflict resolution and professional communication.
· Language skills for clear written and verbal communication.
· Logical reasoning in decision-making.
· Commitment to protecting privacy and personal information of customers and staff.
· Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills of all shellfish techniques.
· Respond promptly to the needs of the company and meet deadlines and commitments.
· It is crucial to have good knowledge of the tidal schedules and knowledge of coworker’s schedules, so work is efficiently done as a team with positive spirits.
· Good human relations and verbal communications skills are required.
· Must be consistently at work on time, must follow instructions and respond to management direction, prioritize and plan work activities and meet challenges with resourcefulness, and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
· Must have boat experience, larger vessel is preferred.
· Experience in cash management, accounting skills.
Computer Skills:
· Inventory management software proficiency, basic spreadsheet skills for tracking, and transactional database familiarity.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
· High School Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant experience. OR
· Associate of Arts Degree in a related field and 2 years relevant experience. OR
· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Experience Required: Boat experience, large vessel is preferred, cash management/handling, accounting skills, and multi-tasking.
Certificates & Licenses: Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License and a valid boaters certificate.
