Private Chef

Houston, Texas | Full-Time | Live-Out | Domestic & International Travel Required About the Role We are seeking an experienced, highly adaptable Private Chef to provide exceptional culinary service for a high-net-worth private household, including the principals, family members, guests, and household staff. This Houston-based, live-out position requires a polished culinary professional who can manage all aspects of daily meal preparation and kitchen operations while also supporting private dinners, houseguests, special occasions, and larger in-home events. The Chef will be responsible for menu development, sourcing premium ingredients, provisioning, dietary accommodations, kitchen organization, and maintaining consistently elevated culinary standards. The role also requires regular domestic and international travel as needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet, flexible, service-oriented, and comfortable adapting quickly to changing schedules, locations, guest counts, dietary requirements, and household needs. Key Responsibilities: Culinary & Daily Service Prepare and present high-quality daily meals and customized menus for principals, family, guests, and staff. Create seasonal, nutritious menus tailored to preferences, allergies, and dietary needs. Provide polished service while adapting to changing schedules and last-minute requests. Manage provisioning, premium sourcing, purchasing, inventory, sanitation, and kitchen organization. Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, cleanliness, presentation, and cost awareness. Coordinate additional chefs, caterers, service staff, and vendors as needed. Travel & Multi-Residence Support Travel domestically and internationally, including annual summer travel to Maine and periodic Bahamas trips. Manage provisioning, kitchen setup, and meal service across multiple residences and travel locations. Adapt quickly to changing kitchens, sourcing conditions, and schedules while maintaining consistent standards. Events & Guest Experience Plan and execute private dinners, houseguest meals, special occasions, and in-home events. Collaborate with estate staff and external vendors to ensure seamless service. Anticipate household and guest needs while maintaining discretion and personalized service. Qualifications: Experience & Education Minimum 5+ years of professional private-chef experience supporting a high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth individual or family. Culinary degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience preferred. Private estate, yacht, luxury hospitality, or multi-residence household experience strongly preferred. Culinary & Professional Skills Advanced culinary skills across a broad range of cuisines, with strong menu-development capabilities. Baking and pastry capabilities preferred. Strong understanding of nutrition, dietary planning, food allergies, restrictions, and specialty diets. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a private household team. Calm, flexible, resourceful, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced and changing environment. Exceptional professionalism, confidentiality, judgment, and discretion. Schedule & Travel Requirements Regular domestic and international travel required.
