Electrical / Electronics Technician

POSITION SUMMARY The Electrical/Electronics Technician under general supervision, performs electrical assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and testing operations on moderate to complex, electrical, and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. The technician ensures that the equipment works as intended to Factory Standards. This role actively builds, repairs, and services all systems and accessories throughout the product life cycle. This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. REQUIREMENTS - HSD/GED, (AA or AS preferred) 5+ years of current electronics experience in a manufacturing production environment or equivalent industry. Must be a U.S. citizen. Perform surface mount component debugging and repair, using multiple methods of soldering. Ability to assemble and modify sub-assemblies, final assemblies and systems per manufacturing drawings and instructions. Strong soldering skills, experience with electrical wiring, and crimping. Work with and around metal and chemical compounds on a regular basis. Solid command of the English language, both written and verbal. Excellent attention to detail, good dexterity and range of movement in fingers, hands, and wrists. Sitting, standing, and lifting daily, for short and long periods of time. SKILLS NEEDED Understand and implement electronics theory, principles of electronic circuitry, to diagnose and repair electronic products. Troubleshoot electronics down to the component level to determine root cause and recommend a corrective action to repair any malfunction. Read and understand schematics, follow engineering assembly drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and other supporting documentation. Soldering techniques to solder and de-solder micro-electronic devices (lead free through holes and surface mount). Perform Surge, Burst, ESD and other EMC tests according to industry standards. Use and operate oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, service monitors, hand/power tools and test fixtures. Work independently with a high level of accuracy and precision in daily work. Mechanical aptitude, able to identify mechanical problems and engage with mechanical support for recommendations or solutions. Work with Engineers to resolve product issues and assist writing test procedures and repair workflow. Thoroughly test production product to ensure proper operation per established SMC test criteria. Collect, analyze, and report data on test processes.
