Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Work Days: Monday-Friday schedule window; 3 days per week

The RN Operating Room will provide perioperative nursing care to surgical patients throughout the recovery, procedure, and operating room environments. The RN will prepare patients for surgery, assist surgeons during procedures, maintain sterile technique, develop and implement nursing care plans, collaborate with surgical teams, and provide appropriate post-operative care and education.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms.
• Stock operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for surgical patients.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Maintain appropriate sterile techniques when handling instruments and equipment before, during, and after surgery.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals regarding patient medications and post-surgical care.
• Maintain and update patient files and medical records.
• Assist with ordering, maintenance, and safe storage of surgical equipment and supplies.
• Provide post-surgery care instructions and answer patient questions.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license , or compact RN license if applicable to Rhode Island.
• BLS certification - AHA required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent OB/Perioperative OR experience .
• Surgical/Perioperative experience specifically involving:
  • C-sections
  • D&C
  • PPTL
  • D&E
• Flu vaccination required.
• COVID-19 vaccination required - no exemptions.
