Location Onsite – Fort Wayne, IN Compensation This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment. Hours of Operation Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM + On Call Hours Responsibilities Book, track, and close loads to ensure timely delivery. Negotiate load pricing and work to reduce our overall cost per mile. Confirm carrier capabilities before confirming loads, including trailer length and weight capacity, height restrictions, etc. Help reduce days to return, which will entail phone calls, text messages, and e‑mail communication with brokers, drivers, and end‑users receiving the freight. Work closely with sales and our logistics department to allocate resources appropriately for delivery and return freight, ensuring quick responses and excellent customer service. Communicate to the sales team via e‑mail about any delivery or pick‑up delays. Generate transport orders in PTR’s transportation booking system (Fleetwave). Assist AP with reconciling weekly transportation purchase orders. Occasionally work after hours due to breakdown or issues at pickup or delivery. Requirements MUST HAVE 1+ years of experience in logistics coordination, or an equivalent college degree. Independent decision making. Ability to conceptualize paired routing to eliminate deadhead. Excellent organizational skills and a passion for customer service. Able to multitask and prioritize. Comfortable taking calls after normal work hours occasionally. Excellent computer skills and communication skills. Troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Excels in high‑pressure, detail‑oriented roles. NICE TO HAVE Experience dispatching company drivers. Experience working in a logistics or supply chain‑related role.
