Pharmacy Technician

Sentara is hiring a full-time pharmacy technician for our brand new outpatient pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA.

Location: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center - Woodbridge, VA

Status: Full-time (40 hours per week) Mon-Fri

Shift/Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-7pm, 8 hour shifts, rotating

$5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates!

The pharmacy technician performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

Responsibilities include:

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/Licensure:

• Virginia pharmacy tech license (required)
• CPhT license (received through the NHA or PTCB) (required)

Experience:

• One year pharmacy tech experience (preferred)
