Subcontracts Manager - US, Ohio - 12 Month Contract This is a fantastic opportunity for a Subcontracts Manager to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn. Responsibilities Lead the administration and oversight of construction contracts, including general conditions and select trade/service contracts. Manage the full contract lifecycle from award through execution, change management, and close-out. Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters between the owner’s team, EPCM partner, and contractors. Review, negotiate, and finalize contract documents, amendments, and change orders. Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations, deliverables, and key milestones. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks. Collaborate with procurement, project controls, construction, and legal teams to ensure alignment and adherence to project strategy. Support resolution of disputes, claims, and performance issues in coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain contract records, trackers, and reporting tools to ensure visibility and control. Skills and Experience: Requires extensive experience in managing contracts on large capital projects, preferably in the pharmaceutical or industrial sector. Proven success in contract management roles within EPCM or owner’s representative delivery models. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, general conditions, scopes of work, and commercial terms. Experience with change order negotiation, claims management, and performance enforcement. Ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability across teams. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency with contract and procurement platforms (e.g., SAP, Areliiba, Procore, Aconex) is strongly preferred.
