About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Data Science to lead its data science and research functions within the broader Data and Analytics organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and mentoring a team of technical individual contributors and leaders, as well as setting priorities for the design, documentation, and delivery of high-quality data science products. This includes APIs, experiments, interactive data applications, predictive models, reports, and automated workflows. The role involves owning the roadmaps for the data science and R&D subdomains, partnering with key stakeholders to translate business needs into data science priorities, and guiding the team through complex tradeoffs. The VP will also champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and serve as a senior-level people leader within the organization. Applicants for the VP of Data Science position at the company should have a Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field and at least 10 years of professional data science experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role. The role requires a deep understanding of the data science lifecycle, strong cross-functional leadership skills, and technical fluency in relevant technologies and topics. Bonus skills include experience in AI product development, leading AI teams, and working in regulated industries with a focus on compliance and risk. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of partnering effectively with various teams and a strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
