Responsible for assigning daily tasking and leading technical teams for installations and repairs aboard Navy Vessels. Responsible for the accomplishment of designated tasks as described in specific statements of work. Maintain effective customer communications and relations and manage subcontractors. Develop, use, and/or maintain technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, and reports. Schedule and attend meetings, report to and brief customers and senior management. What You Must Have High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty. Experience working in shipyard environments. Must have Alteration Install Team experience. Must be able to interface and communicate effectively with employees, customers, and management. Must be proficient in reading technical documents, manuals, blueprints, drawings and schematics. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, etc.) in addition to Microsoft Windows, PDF software and general computer usage. Must be able to follow/enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment. Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment. Bonus Points For Candidates with a current or active DoD clearance preferred. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
