American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week assignment in a hospital's Physical Therapy department, requiring at least 1 year of experience.

Job Details

• 13-week assignment in the Physical Therapy unit,
• Day shift schedule from 08:00-17:30,
• Provides therapeutic interventions for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and developmental impairments,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required,
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required,
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license required if applicable,
• Primary source verification and copy of state-specific license/certificate required,

Additional Information

• Implements treatment plans based on patient's learning style and therapeutic needs under the direction of the Occupational Therapist,
• Communicates treatment goals with patients and families, considering psycho-social, cultural, and spiritual needs,
• Documents patient progress, evaluations, re-evaluations, treatment notes, and discharge summaries per hospital policy and timelines,
• Collaborates regularly with supervising OT to discuss patient care and set goals,
• Assists in adjusting caseload schedules as needed within the department,
• Communicates with physicians and interdisciplinary team regarding patient treatment and progress,
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment using appropriate health and safety equipment,
• Participates in professional development activities such as competency training, mentoring, and in-service coordination
