Tenured Associate Professor of Human Factors & MSHF Program Chair, Worldwide Campus (Remote Role)

Job Description The Opportunity The College of Arts & Sciences (COAS) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide Campus (ERAU-W) seeks a Tenured Associate Professor (Ph.D. required) and Program Chair in Human Factors. This is a fully remote online position with no relocation required ; faculty travel is required to attend mandatory college meetings and events as well as conferences. Candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Physiology, Ergonomics, Biomechanics, Human Computer Interaction, or related disciplines, and a demonstrated competency in human factors-related studies and practices. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership and technical experience in academic, industry, and/or government settings. Additionally, ideal candidates should have a track record of teaching, research, and service in human cognitive, physiological, psychological, human-AI teaming, human-system interface; and/or related skills. The successful candidate will join the college's Department of Human Factors, Safety and Social Sciences and its Human Factors program, where they will lead the Master of Science in Human Factors as Program Chair and also support the Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Psychology degree program. Teaching modalities primarily include asynchronous and synchronous online delivery. Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching interests align with college areas of expertise in human factors, and who can teach a bandwidth of courses serving departmental needs in human factors studies (e.g., human factors, methods, ergonomics, cognition, and human performance). Service responsibilities include participation on departmental, college, and/or university committees.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in Human Factors, Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Ergonomics or Biomechanics, or Human Computer Interaction. * Demonstrated competency in human factors-related studies and practices. * Demonstrated industry or government experience related to leadership of academic programs as well as human cognitive, physiological, psychological, or biomechanical performance; human-system interface; designing for human interface; and related skills. * Track record and active research agenda commensurate with a tenured associate professor.
