AM/PM Group Leader

About This Role Motivated to make a difference in the lives of children? Want to create memorable experiences for local kids? Join the Boys & Girls Club in Belmont, NH as a group leader. This split‑shift position runs from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, with flexibility during mid‑day. Help lead recreational activities, arts & crafts, water games, and member interactions. What You’ll Do Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes Promote program participation by delivering age‑appropriate day‑to‑day activities Orient new members to daily scheduling and program expectations (Be Safe, Be Kind, Take Care) Provide guidance, role modeling, and constructive feedback to promote development and skill building Demonstrate leadership through consistent use of safety and licensing best practices Account for members in their assigned group by name, face, and written attendance Oversee cleaning, organizing, and maintaining program space and upkeep Implement and administer programs, services, and activities for members Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety, quality, and appealing appearance of the branch/site Ensure program areas are safe, well‑ventilated, and well lit; maintain equipment in good working order Track outcome metrics and verify programs respond to member needs and diversity Document problems or issues through injury/incident reports Communicate with child care licensing and DCYF as applicable Participate in special programs, events, staff meetings, and trainings Facilitate professional verbal and written communication with families, staff, and members Other duties as assigned Requirements At least 17 years of age, with at least one of the following: Experience working with school‑age children, totaling 600 hours Documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or related field from an accredited college or university Documentation of certification as a coach Documentation of 5 years of parenting experience Documentation of previous employment as a group leader in a school‑age program on or before the adoption of these rules in 2022 19‑year‑olds may be assigned to the senior program Knowledge of youth development Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems Ability to communicate with parents/guardians Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications to meet Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements Occasional travel for meetings/training may be required May be asked to drive Club van/short bus occasionally (21+ years of age only) Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy to the Operations Director or human resources department Additional Expectations All candidates must pass an FBI fingerprint background check and a state of NH criminal records check through FirstAdvantage; the State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit employment if a disqualifying finding is present Zero‑tolerance policy for abuse of children; any mistreatment or abuse will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, and cooperation with law enforcement Benefits Non‑exempt, part‑time, hourly position #J-18808-Ljbffr Acquire4Hire
