We are looking for a highly motivated, personable, and experienced Medical Biller with specialized experience in Letter of Protection (LOP) cases. In this role, you will manage billing for a busy MRI clinic, acting as an advocate for the clinic. Your primary objective is simple: improve collections on personal injury accounts.

You must be a confident negotiator who isn't afraid to pick up the phone, work directly with personal injury attorneys, and negotiate payments.

This is a remote and mobile hybrid role. While your day-to-day work will be remote, you will occasionally need to drive to client clinics or attorney offices to retrieve documents, negotiate directly, or build vital professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximize Collections: Manage, track, and collect on personal injury and Letter of Protection (LOP) balances for MRI services.
• Negotiate Payouts: Act as the primary liaison with attorney offices, insurance carriers, and third parties, negotiating settlements to ensure the clinic receives favorable compensation.
• Monitor Accounts: Track settlement timelines, monitor aging reports, and manage lien documentation to ensure prompt collection of outstanding balances.
• Mobile Outreach: Drive to local client or attorney offices as needed for face-to-face relationship building, account resolution, or document retrieval.
• Ensure Accuracy: Review radiology billing and clinical documentation to ensure clean claims and accurate coding prior to submission.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Specific Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience specifically handling LOP cases and personal injury collections.
• Assertive Negotiator: You must be highly personable, knowledgeable, and firm—you need to know when to push back with keeping a working relationship with the accounts.
• Exceptional Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. You must be comfortable having financial conversations with law firms.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with radiology/MRI billing (CPT/ICD-10 codes), lien management, and standard personal injury billing regulations.
• Equipment: Must have a working, reliable smartphone and a secure home internet connection.
• Mobility: Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel to clients and attorneys.
• Self-Starter: Ability to manage 20 hours a week efficiently with minimal supervision while hitting collection targets.
