Head of Grants Management Reporting structure & location: Reports to Director of Operations & Special Projects. Location: Colorado with frequent travel to Denver and Boulder. Requisition ID: 2026-2299 # of Openings: 1 Category: Philanthropy Role Overview This role leads grants management operations through process design and compliance execution. The position ensures grantmaking activities are efficient, well documented, and aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational priorities. The role supports cross‑functional coordination, drives continuous improvement across systems, reporting, and workflows, and serves as a subject‑matter resource on grantmaking compliance and contributes to strategic and operational initiatives. Key Responsibilities Team Learning and Development: Support consistent execution of grants management standards and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on onboarding, training, and compliance requirements. Grants Operations and Compliance: Oversee grants processes for accuracy, consistency and compliance; ensure adherence to IRS regulations and applicable federal and state laws; serve as compliance resource; maintain documentation, policies, and grantmaking tools. Process Improvement & Systems: Lead continuous improvement of grants management processes; support implementation of system and reporting requirements; identify efficiency opportunities; support enhancements to systems and tools. Data, Reporting, and Analysis: Partner to collect, analyze and report grants data; develop and maintain dashboards; ensure data accuracy across systems. Project & Cross‑Functional Coordination: Manage projects aligned with team goals; collaborate with legal, finance, program, operations; support alignment with broader initiatives. Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in grants management with deep knowledge of compliance, processes, and financial considerations. At least 2 years of experience managing and developing staff. Strong knowledge of IRS rules and regulations governing private foundation grantmaking. Experience with grant management systems, data tracking, and reporting. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Benefits Salary range: $110,000 - $137,000 Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off.
