Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 8-hour shifts with a general 7:00 AM start time | On-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in a 2-suite Cardiac Cath Lab supporting an average of 8 cases per day
• Perform and assist with all cardiac invasive procedures, excluding structural heart; peripheral procedures including carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostic and intervention cases
• Operate and document within a Cerner EMR environment alongside Cath Lab/IR Techs and a dedicated IV Team
• Fulfill on-call obligations, including a minimum of every other weekend (Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM); average call days are approximately 12 per assignment period, with the potential to range up to 18 depending on staffing needs, with a 30-minute response time required
• Participate in rotating holiday call assignments as scheduled
• Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy (24/7), Pharmacy (24/7), and Cardiologist on-call teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• Completion of the Dysrhythmia (DYS) exam through Relias prior to contract start (must be completed within 24–48 hours of assignment; candidates receive two attempts — a passing result is required; DYS exam completed within the last 12 months may be accepted)
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility within the CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health networks within the past year (candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in the Cath Lab preferred; candidates without scrub experience will also be considered
• Familiarity with peripheral IR procedures such as carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostic and intervention cases
• Prior experience with Cerner EMR
• Charge Nurse experience a plus
