Description:
Interventional Radiology Tech position available.
This facility has 174 licensed beds and is not a trauma designation or a teaching hospital.
The department typically performs 2-3 catheterizations in the morning.
If there are no afternoon catheterizations scheduled, the lab will be used for procedural or interventional radiology overflow cases.
Common patient types and diagnoses include cardiac, device placement, and vascular needs.
Procedures may include pacemaker and defibrillator insertion, ports, PICCs, arteriograms, nephrostomy tubes, and uterine artery embolization.
Additional responsibilities may include heavy vascular cases such as lower extremity angiograms, interventional cases, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, venograms, and fistula creation.
The role consists of right and left heart catheterizations with intervention and pericardiocentesis.
Most procedures are performed via radial access, but some may utilize femoral access.
Candidates must be comfortable with scrubbing and recording procedures.
If there is a lack of competency in specific cases, approval from management will be required.
Registered nurses will handle circulating duties in the lab.
The department supports a small team environment with approximately 20 staff members.
Key technologies and equipment include EMR systems such as EPIC/Encompass and MERGE.
Additional equipment includes IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and monitoring devices.
Floating to other departments is not applicable in this position.
No weekend or call shifts are expected.
The facility observes major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Any requests for time off must be approved by management.
This position promotes a teamwork-oriented culture within the department.
Good to have skills include EPIC/Encompass experience.
