Financial Controller
Legacy Oral Surgery
Legacy Oral Surgery & Implants is a family-owned oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with locations in Union City, NJ; Elizabeth, NJ; and Staten Island, NY. We're growing, through new locations and acquisitions, and we're looking for our first dedicated Financial Controller to build the financial foundation for that growth.
The Role
You'll own the practice's accounting and financial reporting across multiple locations and entities, reporting directly to the COO. This is a hands-on, build-it-right role: you'll set up the processes, controls, and reporting we'll rely on for years. You'll also be a strategic partner on expansion decisions.
What You'll Do
- Lead the monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statements across multiple entities and locations
- Manage intercompany allocations and shared-cost accounting
- Oversee NJ and NY payroll and tax compliance in coordination with our outside CPA firm
- Build reliable production, collections, and adjustment reporting from our practice-management system
- Own provider compensation calculations and make sure they're accurate, consistent, and well documented
- Support acquisition due diligence, integration, and purchase accounting
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and KPI dashboards for leadership
- Strengthen internal controls, AP/AR processes, and cash management
What We're Looking For
- accounting experience, including a controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Experience in healthcare, dental, or a multi-location medical group strongly preferred (DSO experience is a big plus)
- Solid understanding of revenue cycle concepts: production, collections, adjustments, payer contracts
- Multi-entity accounting experience; acquisition experience is a plus
- CPA preferred
- Strong Excel skills; experience with QuickBooks or similar, and comfort pulling data from practice-management software
- Someone who can work independently, explain numbers clearly to non-finance people, and enjoys building systems from the ground up
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000–$130,000, depending on experience
- Annual performance bonus
- 401(k)
- Paid time off
