Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - FT Nights (12hrs)

Location: Orange, California Work Shift: Night – 12 hours (United States of America) Job Summary This position is for experienced Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) with a minimum of one year of acute care clinical experience. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality respiratory care to pediatric patients in a hospital setting. Responsibilities Provide appropriate patient care based on age, cultural, and spiritual needs. Demonstrate excellent customer satisfaction and communication skills. Prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner. Collaborate effectively and maintain a positive work environment. Prepare timely and accurate documentation and reports. Perform clinical duties in accordance with CHOC policies, professional standards, and applicable laws. Set goals, evaluate outcomes, and pursue continuous improvement in care quality. Qualifications Experience: Minimum one year of acute respiratory care experience; preferred greater than two years. Education: Graduation from an accredited two‑year Respiratory Therapy Program; preferred Associate or Bachelor of Science/Arts degree. Training: Successful completion of acute care training and competency. Licensure: Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider – Advanced (NRP), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider – Essentials (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Practitioner‑CA. Preferred certifications include Certified Asthma Educator and Neonatal Pediatric Specialty. Skills: Ability to provide age‑appropriate care with sensitivity and respect; strong communication and documentation proficiency; self‑motivation, teamwork, and innovation in care delivery. Physical Demands Medium to high energy level; lift and carry 40–50 lbs.; push/pull 150–200 lbs.; lateral transfer of patients 150–200 lbs. Repetitive motion, fine motor tasks, and use of keyboard. Standing, walking, and occasional bending or kneeling required. Exposure to environments such as air‑borne communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust, extreme noise, temperature extremes, and uneven surfaces.
