Logistics Supervisor / Manager Matthews, NC | Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM | $60,000 - $65,000 / year

We're hiring a hands-on Logistics Supervisor to lead our shipping and receiving team in Matthews, NC!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Operations: Direct daily shipping/receiving and mentor department staff.
• Shipment Coordination: Work with customers and brokers to schedule deliveries and secure the best freight rates.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records, daily shipping logs, and process parts orders.
• Hands-on Support: Prepare products/trailers for shipment and assist with loading/unloading (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).

Requirements:

• Prior shipping, receiving, or logistics supervisory experience.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Organization, data entry, and broker negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. • Direct and oversee the operations of the Logistics (shipping and receiving) Department to achieve company objectives • Motivate, train and develop department employees • Prepare and keep accurate documentation and records of shipments to and from customers, powder coaters and other vendors • Prepare trailers, parts and other products for shipping as required by customer or management • Schedule or work with customers and customers' transportation brokers to schedule shipments for product deliveries to customers • Maintain working relationships with transportation brokers and directly search for and schedule best alternatives for shipments to customers • Prepare shipping documentation for all deliveries to or for customers • Maintain daily shipping logs • Assist with loading and unloading shipments using pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts and similar equipment. • Assist as may be needed to process customer parts orders, including system entry, shipment packaging and documentation

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
