We are looking for a dedicated Phlebotomist to assist with donor services and product collection. Primary Responsibilities Assist in determining the suitability of donors. Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality. Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions. Monitor donor and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality. Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines. Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment. Occupational Demands Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms, exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment, exposure to extreme cold below 32°F while working in a plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold gear. Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, bending and twisting neck and waist 1-2 hours per day, frequent hand movement with ability to perform fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, frequent foot movement, may squat, crouch or sit on heels, may walk up to 6-8 hours per day. Light lifting of 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs. Requires hearing acuity and color vision, near & far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to comprehend and follow instructions. Must perform within guidance of oral or written instructions.
