Overview

VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Senior Legal Counsel L&B Corporate (EMEA) to join our Legal team based in Stabio, Switzerland. Reporting directly to the Vice President Regional General Counsel, the Senior Counsel provides pragmatic, business‑oriented legal support across VF’s corporate activities in the region.

Primary Responsibilities

• Resource Allocation: Devise exhaustive plans detailing resource deployment, scoping internal expertise and external partnerships, assessing ROI.
• Legal Surveillance: Monitor legal nuances impacting corporate governance, acquisitions, divestitures, and other areas within the Corporate Business Area.
• Strategic Counsel: Offer legal direction on specified matters, collaborate with other leaders to identify intersections and risks, and provide advice on corporate structuring, labour & employment, and overall strategy.
• L&E Governance: Establish and maintain a consistent labour & employment governance framework across the region in partnership with HR, including escalation pathways, playbooks, decision logs, and coordination with external counsel.
• Contract Oversight: Supervise genesis, negotiation, and culmination of key corporate contracts (real estate, sourcing, employment) aligned with VF’s objectives while mitigating exposure.
• Risk Management: Develop and implement methods to identify and mitigate potential legal pitfalls across the Corporate Business Area.
• Legal Ops Synergy: Collaborate with Legal Ops to develop and maintain compliance tools and procedures tailored to corporate operations.
• Financial Oversight: Oversee external legal engagement to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Training Campaigns: Design and implement educational programs targeting VF personnel on corporate legal themes, risk mitigation, and best practices.
• Reporting: Prepare and deliver reports to regional and global leadership on strategic legal issues, predictive risk analyses, and region‑specific countermeasures.
• Committee Engagement: Participate and lead committees, including regional and global compliance forums and strategic roundtables.

Qualifications & Skills

• Legal Mastery: Juris Doctor or master’s degree in law.
• 10–12+ years of corporate legal experience in multicultural environments, with solid expertise in Labour & Employment.
• Broad knowledge of corporate business operations legal aspects (contracts, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance). Background in protecting intellectual property rights for consumer brands.
• Comprehensive understanding of corporate legal landscape: regulatory matters, compliance, litigation, risk management, corporate governance.
• Ability to establish scalable systems and internal policies.
• Financial oversight: Budget formulation, allocation, and fiscal management.
• Excellent communication: Convey complex legal topics clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
• Cultural adaptability: Thrived in inclusive, diverse, multicultural workspaces.
• Language: English fluency mandatory; additional regional languages advantageous.
• Critical thinking: Exceptional legal research, analytical reasoning, and drafting prowess.
