Travel Consultant

Role Overview A travel consultant at AAA is passionate about travel and responsible for selling international and domestic travel packages including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel. Must have strong sales drive, organizational skills, ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment, computer proficiency, and excellent written and oral communication skills. The role requires continuous learning and a commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities Sell international and domestic travel packages (cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel). Share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or educational study trips. Develop long‑standing relationships with members and build referral and repeat business. Make appropriate recommendations to ensure trip experiences exceed expectations and are tailored to member preferences. Cross‑sell relevant products such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identify theft protection. Career Development & Training Travel Consultants begin with structured, hands‑on training and then progress through a defined ramp‑up period, gaining increased earnings as they achieve sales goals. Ongoing development is supported through The Auto Club University, regular recognition programs, company‑sponsored IATAN cards, discounted travel opportunities, insurance product benefits, paid educational study trips, and quarterly incentives/bonuses. Required / Preferred Qualifications High school diploma required; a 2‑ or 4‑year college degree preferred. Pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening. Minimum two years of sales experience in a performance‑driven environment. Passive weekly availability on most Saturdays and occasional evenings. Completion of the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which involves some travel. Strong computer proficiency across multiple systems, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and typing speed of at least 30 WPM. Excellent organizational skills and a comfort with paperwork. Driven by sales and a goal‑oriented mindset. Compensation Starting hourly rate: $23.50. Once fully established and meeting sales goals, base pay ranges between $55,000 and $65,000 annually, with top performers exceeding $85,000+ through an uncapped commission structure.
