We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for a behavioral health program in Tampa, Florida.

This position offers an excellent balance of inpatient clinical care and medical leadership , with Medical Director responsibilities comprising approximately 30% of the role . The physician will provide direct patient care while providing clinical oversight, supervision, and leadership to the psychiatric team.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative physician with strong inpatient psychiatry experience who is interested in taking on a leadership role while remaining actively involved in patient care.

• Provide inpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing patient management .
• See a clinical volume of at least 10+ patients .
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings .
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for approximately 4 psychiatric midlevel providers .
• Work collaboratively with an on-site Child & Adolescent (C&A) Psychiatrist .
• Provide supervision, guidance, and clinical support to psychiatric providers.
• Participate in the Medical Executive Committee (MEC) and other clinical leadership activities.
• Assist with complex cases and support evidence-based treatment decisions.
• Monitor clinical quality, patient safety, and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with facility leadership and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Support consistent clinical standards, policies, and best practices across the inpatient program.
• Approximately 30% of the position will be dedicated to Medical Director responsibilities , with the remainder focused on patient care.

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry .
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
• Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Inpatient psychiatry experience strongly preferred.
• Previous Medical Director, clinical leadership, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care.

Providers who are currently applying for their Florida license may be considered; however, an ASAP start is preferred.
