Expected pay for this position is $30.50 - $35.88/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Stationary Engineer surveys the hospital on a routine basis to inspect heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical equipment. Responds to calls for emergency repairs. Conducts routine inspections of mechanical equipment and boilers. Performs minor repairs or replaces broken or worn parts on mechanical equipment. Gives work directions to Boiler Operators and provides relief coverage. Coordinates work activities for his shift. Maintains logs of all work performed. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area. Functions as a member of the hospital fire response team. Studies manuals and journals to maintain technical competency and learns about new equipment.

3rd shift; Monday-Friday; 11:00pm-7:00am, weekend rotation

Eligible for a $3,000 Sign On Bonus with a 2-year work commitment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School/GED

Other Licenses/Certifications:

• City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License
• Valid state driver's license.

• 3 years of experience as a Boiler Operator
• Demonstrates knowledge of machinery and parts, interprets blueprints, and is familiar with state and municipal codes.

Other skills/knowledge:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
