Certified Medical Assistant

Perform a variety of administrative and patient care supportive duties in Student Health. Assist administrative, medical and/or nursing staff in the registration, examination and treatment of patients, ensuring the office runs smoothly.

Key Position Duties:

• Patient Registration - 45% of Effort
• Clinical Care - 45% of Effort
• Patient Relations - 5% of Effort
• Other- 5% of Effort

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $18.00 to USD $24.89.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High school or GED graduation required.
• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• Certification or Registration by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
• Minimum Experience No experience required

Strongly Preferred Education and Experiences:

• Education : Graduation from a Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
• Experience: Certifications: Certification by AAMA preferred One year of work in a health care setting is preferred. Experience in college health or an ambulatory care setting is preferred.
