About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Duration: Travel Assignment Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: 3-4 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in NICU or Special Care Nursery License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred, but not required Must-Have: - Previous NICU or Level 2 SCN experience - Comfortable assisting in deliveries - Starting neonate IVs Description: The role requires a registered nurse with a background in neonatal care. Candidates should possess 3-4 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in NICU or Special Care Nursery. Postpartum experience is preferred but not absolutely required. The position may involve floating to postpartum or pediatrics if needed, however, this is not likely for travelers. The unit is integrated with labor and delivery, with staff trained across different specialties. Registered nurses are expected to attend deliveries of vaginal births and cesarean sections. The special care nursery accommodates neonates beginning at 32 weeks gestation and can provide surfactant via LMA to suitable candidates. The typical average census in the nursery is 2-5 neonates. Travelers should be prepared to assist in deliveries and initiate care for newborns.
