Overview ER & CC Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in the daily operations of Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES). They are essential in supporting our practitioners, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maximizing the efficiency of the medical team. By handling technical tasks and managing administrative responsibilities, technicians enable our practitioners to focus fully on medical priorities and deliver exceptional care. Compensation Credentialed Technician (LVT) : Starting at $24 hourly, based on experience Unlicensed Technician : Starting at $21 hourly, based on experience Flexible Schedules Available Full Time: 3x12 or 4x10 hour shifts (swing shifts available) Duties and Responsibilities Restrain pets, prepare/administer medications, and assist in exams, procedures, and surgeries. Monitor anesthesia, provide supportive therapy, and teach clients how to administer treatments. Prepare patients for discharge and communicate status updates to the care team and clients. Record patient histories, treatments, and procedures accurately for invoicing and records. Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed progress notes. Schedule procedures, relay accurate information to clients, and seek help when needed. Additional Duties Perform lab procedures and collect/prep samples for analysis. Operate and maintain radiography units and diagnostic software. Maintain and report issues with medical equipment; restock and manage supplies. Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain hospital cleanliness, and assist with patient hygiene. Requirements Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistants with at least 3 years of Emergency experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
