Part Time Faculty Interest Pool - French

Opportunity Portland Community College is accepting applications for Part‑time Faculty assignments in French. This interest pool may allow hiring for substitute or full‑term class assignments throughout the Academic Year. Qualifications Preferred: Master of Arts in French language. An M.A. in French may be considered if accompanied by 30 graduate credit hours in language, linguistics, literature, and culture. Candidate holding a Master of Arts in a related field with at least 30 graduate credit hours in the language may also be considered. Native or near‑native proficiency (to be assessed through a proficiency interview). One year of prior college teaching experience in, or closely related to, French. Teaching ability evidenced by a viva and support materials. Recent completion of a 3‑credit graduate‑level course on college‑level second‑language teaching methods, or completion of such a course during the first term at PCC. Official transcripts required within two weeks of offer for degrees required in the listed qualifications; foreign credential transcripts evaluated by agencies recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. No visa sponsorship is currently offered (e.g., H1‑B). Benefits Eligibility for Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans. Hourly rates determined by course type (lecture, lab, lecture/lab) and based on Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
