Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.We are seeking a skilled HVAC Compressor Technician to support plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems, with a focus on compressor units and chillers. This role is critical to ensuring optimal climate control and equipment performance across production facilities. The technician will work closely with maintenance and production teams to uphold safety, efficiency, and uptime standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, including compressors, chillers, air handlers, and pneumatic controls.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in HVAC and chiller systems.Monitor system performance and conduct inspections to identify potential failures or inefficiencies.Support installation and commissioning of new HVAC and chiller infrastructure and upgrades.Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols.Collaborate with production and facilities teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals.Assist with emergency repairs and participate in on-call rotations as needed.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, with a focus on compressor and chiller systems.Familiarity with refrigerant recovery, ductwork, and control systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and reporting.Preferred QualificationsTechnical certification in HVAC or related field.Experience with Trane, Carrier, or similar commercial HVAC and chiller systems.Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and PLC interfaces.Familiarity with maintenance management software (e.g., Rippling, CMMS).Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a production plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting heavy equipment.Use of PPE is mandatory in designated areas.AST SpaceMobile is an Equal Opportunity, at will Employer; employment is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.
