Details Full-time OR position at a hospital surgical department with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio Mid shift schedule, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday Patient population includes adult, geriatric, and limited pediatric (ortho only) cases Primary campus performs Ortho (Mako total knees/hips, gamma nails), Podiatry, Hand, Spine/Crani, General surgery (including robotic), and Urology procedures May float to a second campus performing Pain, ENT (including pediatric), Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, and General/Ortho cases On-call required 1-2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Sunday) Floating required between two OR locations Requirements Active RN license in Louisiana or compact required BLS certification required 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Additional Information Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administer medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects Document patient history, symptoms, and care provided throughout procedures Assess and address patient and family education needs related to surgical care Make appropriate care assignments and delegate to other providers as needed Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period across the entire health system before being eligible for a travel assignment American Traveler Job ID P-739601.
