Speech/Language Pathologist

Job Description The position will require provision of direct services across of variety of service models (inclusion, pull out, consultative), as well as completing screenings, conducting initial and three year reevaluations to determine eligibility, report writing, participation in Team meetings, and IEP development. The position may also require supervision of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. Candidate must have effective communication skills, both in writing and in speaking. Responsibilities Evaluate students to assess speech and language abilities and needs. Write evaluation reports including all speech/language assessments, goals and plans. Determine and maintains programs based on goals set by IEP. Determine needs of individual children and provides services one to one or in small groups as deemed appropriate. Determine needs of individual children within the classroom setting and provide services within the classroom as deemed appropriate. Serve as a consultant to classroom teachers/special education teachers as to how to better met the communication needs of individual children within the group. Collaborate with other disciplines (i.e., OT, PT, SAC) Work in conjunction with the classroom teacher to incorporate the speech/language program into the curriculum. Work in conjunction with the team to create IEPs for annual reviews and provides input for students who are involved with the three-year re-evaluation or initial evaluation. Maintain data logs and ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress. Attend parent conferences whenever possible. Maintain a positive learning environment. May require travel between schools within the district. Other duties as requested by Administrator of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services or designated administrators Requirements Minimum of a Master\'s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Must be CCC-SLP certified from the ASHA and certified as a Speech-Language Pathologist through the state of Massachusetts Will consider clinical fellows working toward CCC certification Compensation Compensation is set in accordance with the Beverly Teachers Association Unit A collective bargaining agreement and is commensurate with experience and education Employment Eligibility Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a CORI and SORI background check and fingerprint-based national criminal history check, in accordance with Massachusetts law.
