NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity and respect, regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.We have immediate openings and flexible schedulesDetermines and prescribes kinds of anesthetics and procedures to be employed in various categories of cases - besides the bread and butter we also serve light pediatrics, obstetric, neuro, orthopedics and plasticsAdvises Anesthetists and Surgeons in cases where age or condition of patient presents unusual or complex problemsRecommends suitable anesthesia, advises on dosages and consults on post-operative complicationsReviews case histories and is responsible for all matters pertaining to AnesthesiologyLectures to and trains Anesthetists, Residents and auxiliary staff -Daily work includes working with CRNA’s, medical students and residentsHarlem's Department of Anesthesia Details:Work with residents from Metropolitan Hospital and osteopathic students from Touro College of Osteopathic MedicineUnderserved areaTight-knit group that foster an environment of working together and helping out each otherGrowing practice, leadership opportunitiesNo hearts, No transplantsOccasional pediatric cases, over 2 years oldColleagues with fellowships in OB anesthesia, Peds anesthesia, Pain Management, Critical Care, Cardiothoracic anesthesiaAbout 300-360 OR Cases per month, less than 100 deliveries per month (labor epidural rate ~80%)Off-sites areas include MRI, IR, endoscopy/bronchoscopy suiteEndo suite in the same area as the main ORs (currently 6 main ORs)No office anesthesia, no freestanding outpatient facilityThree Biomedical equipment techs dedicated to the DepartmentSome cases are solo without a CRNA or ResidentCRNA ratio - 1:2, all CRNAs work under supervisionA license to practice Medicine in the State of New YorkExperience in block placement in upper and lower extremities preferred but not requiredBoard eligible or certified in AnesthesiologyWages and Benefits include:Annual Base Salary: $409,000* (board eligible); $419,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between $657,350** (board eligible) and $669,000** (board certified) which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings.
