Job Description
As a Production Operator, you will support a modern, automated manufacturing process by loading fabric into press machines, assembling small components, and performing visual quality checks to ensure products meet daily production standards. You will play a key role in maintaining efficient workflow, supporting recycling efforts, and contributing to a clean and safe production environment.
Responsibilities
- Load raw fabric material into press machines, handling parts that weigh less than 15 pounds.
- Unload finished products from the press machines in a safe and efficient manner.
- Remove excess material from finished products and place skeletal scrap into designated recycling streams.
- Perform quick visual quality checks on finished products to verify they meet established standards.
- Assemble small components into fabric according to written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Listen to, understand, and follow verbal directions from supervisors and team leads.
- Work consistently to ensure daily production targets and performance standards are met.
- Operate production equipment and related tools safely and correctly after training.
- Support loading and unloading activities within the production area as needed.
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping guidelines.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production issues or quality concerns.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and respond to changing production priorities.
- Report any equipment issues, safety hazards, or quality deviations promptly.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Capability to safely lift and handle parts weighing less than 15 pounds on a regular basis.
- Attention to detail to perform quick visual quality checks on finished products.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to operate production equipment after training.
- Reliability and consistency in meeting daily production standards and targets.
- Willingness to work in a warm, humid, and moderately to highly noisy manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to following safety policies and maintaining a safe workplace.
- High school diploma or GED suggested but not required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working as a production operator or in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Experience in loading and unloading materials or operating production machinery is an advantage.
- Familiarity with basic quality checking processes in a production setting is helpful.
- Experience with forklifts or material handling equipment can be useful, depending on assignment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with automated equipment.
- Strong communication skills to regularly talk with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to contribute to recycling and waste reduction efforts by properly handling excess materials.

Noise levels range from moderate to high, and employees are regularly required to talk and communicate with others. Comprehensive safety policies are in place to promote a safe work environment, and appropriate work attire is expected to support safety and cleanliness in the production area.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.75 - $18.60/hr.
