Floating Custodian - Propel Northside and Propel Montour

Floating Itinerant CustodianPropel seeks a Custodian for our Facilities Department. This position floats between Propel Montour Campus and Propel Northside and is available immediately. The rate for this role is $18/hr. This position works year round.Under moderate supervision, the selected candidate will perform janitorial duties that involve cleaning and sanitizing the school facility and its grounds, including, but not limited to:Wiping, sweeping, dusting, mopping, washing, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floorsCleaning windows, woodwork, furniture, and equipmentCleaning rest-room facilities and keeping them supplied with towels, soap, and other itemsCollecting and disposing of trash from buildings and groundsPerforming unskilled maintenance workPerforming outside work such as cleaning walks, mowing lawn, and snow/ice removalThe custodian works as part of the Facilities Team and reports to the Director of Facilities.Essential Mindsets:Own It. Work may involve a variety of physical demands. Selected Candidate must have the ability to perform strenuous manual labor tasks as required, including, but not limited to:Ability to perform physical labor such as moving furniture and equipment, lifting, climbing ladders, etcAbility to follow instructions concerning various chemicalsAbility to lift a minimum of fifty (50) poundsAbility to understand and follow verbal or simple written instructionsAbility to function independently, with Supervisor available to answer questionsGeneral knowledge of housekeeping, tools, equipment and suppliesClearance Requirements:Act 34 Criminal ClearanceAct 114 FBI ClearanceAct 151 Child Abuse ClearanceMandated Reporter TrainingAct 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse DisclosureAct 24 Arrest and Conviction DisclosureTB TestCompensation and Benefits:Compensation: Propel provides a competitive salary for custodians. Our rate for this role is $18/hr.Relocation Allowance: A relocation allowance for new hires moving to the area from 60 miles away or further.Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individual employees and families.Retirement: New hires participate in a 403(b); Propel contributes 5% automatically and matches up to 4%. This increases after 5 years.Paid Leave: All Custodians receive 10 PTO days, 5 sick days and 2 weeks vacation.Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement of up to $3,000 annually upon completion of course and receipt of grades for coursework that meets our eligibility requirements.Wellness Benefit: Reimbursement of $20 per month for wellness activities including Gym Memberships, health programs, etc. Additionally, staff have the ability to earn up to $300 for participation in a Wellness Program each year.Professional Development: At Propel, we believe in supporting staff growth and provide substantial school-based and network-wide professional development support for specialists, including 8 Professional Development days annually.Leadership & Career Development: Leadership opportunities are extensive at Propel, both in and outside of the classroom. For candidates without a bachelor's degree, we offer support to attain your degree and receive a teacher certification.
