Certified Medical Assistant

Role and Responsibilities Provide quality patient care in a primary care setting under supervision of a physician or licensed provider. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs and health histories, documenting in electronic medical records, performing point-of-care tests (flu, Covid, Strep, Hemoglobin A1C, urinalysis), assisting with minor procedures, administering injections, and supporting front desk tasks such as patient check-in/check-out. Ensure proper calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of clinical/lab equipment per safety standards. Maintain patient records, exam room supplies, and cleanliness. Assist in scheduling, triaging patients, and communicating care plans and patient education. Observe and report patient conditions, respond to calls, and manage medication distribution. Prepare patients for exams, assist with procedures, and instruct on sample collection and tests. Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred. Must be certified through recognized organizations (AMT, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, etc.) and hold current BLS certification. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
