About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Paramedic, Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varies - ALL Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Current, valid RN license in good standing Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - De-escalation program certification - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Must-Have: - Good ER experience Description: The RN provides direct nursing care to patients. The RN prescribes, delegates, and coordinates the nursing care provided. Essential functions include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of care for patients within the scope of practice. The RN provides education to patients according to their needs. The RN transcribes, utilizes, and implements protocols and physician orders. The RN coordinates the healthcare team and delegates appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. Previous experience in a clinical nurse setting is preferred. Previous experience in a hospital is preferred. The RN must maintain credentials throughout employment. Completion of yearly required continuing education units is expected. The RN should demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The RN must possess excellent organization and time management skills. Exceptional problem-solving skills are necessary. The ability to work effectively without immediate supervision is important. The RN should demonstrate ethical and legal accountability in the position. Confidential information must be recognized and protected.
