Primary Care Physician

Overview A Primary Care Physician (PCP) at the Correctional Training Facility (CTF) in Soledad, CA, manages the medical care of the incarcerated population. They are responsible for evaluating health issues, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and ensuring compliance with state and departmental health care guidelines. Responsibilities Patient Care: Provide comprehensive clinical services for patients of varying levels of acuity, including treatments and preventative care. Medication Management: Prescribe appropriate medications and oversee clinical treatments. Collaboration & Leadership: Guide clinical teams, provide clinical oversight to Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs), and coordinate with nursing staff on medical protocols. Compliance & Records: Adhere to medical bylaws, infection control precautions, and facility policies. PCPs must meticulously maintain and secure confidential patient medical records. Education: Communicate medical information to patients regarding their diagnoses and treatment goals. Institutional Safety: Maintain security by being aware of surroundings, preventing access to contraband, and participating in collaborative efforts toward rehabilitation and safety. Qualifications Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California. Must be a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy (M.D./D.O.), Board Certified. Maintain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification. Required Skills Proficient in the English language. Ability to communicate effectively with the CDCR/CCHCS. Ability to speak, understand oral and written communication, and write effectively in English. Preferred Skills Experience in clinical reviews and quality assurance. Familiarity with CDCR/CCHCS medical standards of care. Benefits $225/Hour. Malpractice Insurance is also included.
