Job Title: LPN/LVN Profession: LVN / LPN Specialty: LTC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year of nursing facility/nursing home experience required License: Active New York Single State LPN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required Description: MUST HAVE NY LICENSE TO SUBMIT. Position requires nursing facility/nursing home experience. Behavior management techniques for degenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's, ALS, and Parkinson's are essential. Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG is required. Schedule is for five 8-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed. Travel experience is required. Candidates must be willing to float within their skill set. Patient ratios are 1:10 during the day and 1:20 overnight. Assessment and management of pain, pressure ulcer assessment/prevention, and vital sign monitoring are essential skills. Knowledge of chemical restraints, physical restraints, and seclusion protocols is required. Behavior management techniques and communication of patient status changes to RN/MD are required. Experience in caring for adults and geriatric patients is needed. The unit typically has a daily census of 25 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Candidates should have experience with antianxiety and antihypertensive medications.
