Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner Location: New Britain, CT (100% in office, not remote/hybrid) Salary: $120k - $140k base, and full benefits package Key points Bilingual Spanish required. HSE experience (Health, Safety and Environment) experience required Up to 25-35% travel between sites (sites are in close proximity) Key Responsibilities Onboarding Work with Regional Recruiter and General Manager on interview schedules. Coordinate onboarding logistics: paperwork, I-9 completion and verification, systems access, orientation scheduling, and 30/60/90-day check-ins. Maintain accurate requisition status and time-to-fill tracking for both sites. Employee Relations Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and complaints at both locations. Conduct workplace investigations of routine matters; document findings and recommend action, escalating sensitive, complex, or high-risk matters to the Group VP of Human Resources. Coach supervisors and managers through performance conversations, corrective action, and documentation; ensure consistency with Group policy and past practice. Administer the disciplinary and termination process, including documentation review, exit interviews, and offboarding. HR Operations & Administration Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS: new hires, status changes, transfers, terminations, and reporting structure. Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA accommodations, state leave, personal leave) end-to-end, including eligibility, notices, tracking, and return-to-work coordination. Support benefits administration: enrollments, life events, open enrollment logistics, and employee questions; act as liaison to Group Benefits and carriers. Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely pay, including resolving timekeeping and pay discrepancies. Maintain personnel files and records in compliance with retention requirements. Compliance & Safety Ensure both sites remain compliant with federal, state, and local employment law, including wage and hour, EEO, I-9, FMLA/ADA, and required postings. Support workers’ compensation claims administration and coordinate with Safety on incident follow-up and return-to-work. Complete required reporting (EEO-1, OSHA recordkeeping support, unemployment claims responses) on schedule. Program Execution Deploy Group-designed programs at the site level: performance review cycles, engagement surveys, compensation planning cycles, and training assignments — including scheduling, communication, tracking, and completion follow-up. Deliver or coordinate site-level training on policies, harassment prevention, and supervisory fundamentals. Compile routine headcount, turnover, and open-requisition reporting for the General Managers and the Group VP of Human Resources. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3–5 years of generalist HR experience, including hands‑on employee relations and full-cycle recruiting. Working knowledge of federal and applicable state employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, I-9). Proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems; strong Excel skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume, interrupt-driven workload across competing priorities. Ability to travel regularly between sites; valid driver’s license. Bilingual [English/Spanish]. Preferred Experience supporting multiple sites or business units simultaneously. Aerospace, manufacturing, or multi-shift industrial environment experience. PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
