Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 12 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: TruStaff Program - Bon Secours Mercy Health and no current placement allowed at Program: TruStaff Program - Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Dysrhythmia interpretation required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - CAPD preferred.

Required Credentials: - EKG exam required at orientation.

Preferred Credentials: - Critical Care Course preferred.

Special Requests: - May be able to accommodate a weekend-only block schedule.

Unit Details: - General surgery, trauma, and minor orthopedic cases; post-op and post-trauma patients. - Adult and geriatric patients. - Average length of stay ~4 days; day shift can expect 1-2 patient turnovers per nurse per day. - Uses Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, and Kangaroo pumps for tube feeds. - Support staff includes monitor techs for telemetry strip interpretation, phlebotomy, 1-2 CNAs per shift, sitters, charge nurses, and a rapid response team. - Patient ratios are subject to change based on facility needs and are not guaranteed.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend and major holidays required. - May consider a 48-hour contract.

Floating Requirements: - Required to float to other Med/Surg units as needed.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years
