Senior Delphi Developer

Role Overview:

The Delphi multi-tiered Desktop Application Developer supports the client's mission by developing quality software within a structured and mature software development life-cycle environment, preferably an agile development environment. This position involves working closely with customers and team members, including Functional Analysts, SQA, and other developers, to ensure efficient and effective software solutions. The role encompasses all aspects of application development, from analysis and requirements documentation to design, development, test site deployment, issue tracking, and resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, testing, and deploying software.
• Performing defect resolution and issue tracking.
• Developing new functionality and modifying existing applications.
• Participating in the agile development life cycle, including daily scrum calls, sprint planning, and build planning.
• Assisting and collaborating with other Delphi and Mumps developers.
• Utilizing Jira for tracking and updating the status of work activities.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Software Development using Delphi.
• Expertise in Delphi development and Technical Analysis Documentation.
• Ability to effectively resolve performance, memory leak, and scalability issues.
• Experience in developing, enhancing, and maintaining Pension and Retirement applications using Delphi, Cobol, MS SQL, and Btrieve files.
• Excellent understanding of RDBMS concepts, specifically Oracle or SQL Server.
• Strong results orientation, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to handle product versions, documentation, and development standards.
• Participation in the analysis and design of client system applications.
• Proficiency in understanding code in Delphi 7 and converting to 64-Bit Delphi XE8.
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Expertise in application development using Delphi, Interbase, and SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of COM, ODBC, OOPS concepts, and XML.
• Sound experience in developing Client Server applications and libraries.
• Expertise in PLSQL, RDBMS concepts, and development using relational databases.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of strong experience in Software Development in Delphi.
• This role requires working from the office in Maryland 3 days a week.
