MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATE

POSITION SUMMARY: Under close supervision of qualified mental health professional (QMHP) provides direct behavioral health services to consumers; completes required clinical and billing/payer documentation. (All outpatient services notes must be co-signed by a QMHP and minimum of one supervisor's note in behavioral health record of assigned client per month.)

QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, or other mental health related field.

SKILL SETS: Good computer skills, superior oral and written communication skills, articulate, trustworthy and decisive. Other skill sets include but are not limited to highly organized, good anticipatory planning, conflict resolution and analytical skills.


PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for updating files and completing documents. Requires frequent stooping, kneeling and crouching to file records. Hearing and talking is necessary to answer phone and talk with employees and other individuals. Work is light with walking, standing and sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform work processing and other clerical duties.


JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides or assists in provision of face-to-face individual therapy on outpatient basis
2. Provides or assists in provision of group therapy for chronic clients or other client groups on outpatient basis
3. Accompanies client groups on recreational outings or other activities
4. Participates in development of treatment plans under supervision
5. Makes progress notes in client records
6. Completes documentation concerning client services related to treatment and billings
7. Attends supervision sessions as directed by supervisor
8. Participates in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities
9. Performs other duties as assigned

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Adheres to Communicare, Inc. policies and procedures.

2. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.

Full-time employees receive 12 days of vacation time and 12 days of sick time accrued throughout their first year of employment. Employees receive 10 holidays per year with two of those being floating holidays that can be used as they need them. We also provide up to four hours of employee appreciation hours per year and a pop-up store to select and item from.

Employee Assistance Counseling services available to all employees with limited dependent benefits. Full-time employees are eligible for up to 10 total visits per calendar year; dependents are eligible for up to 6 visits. Half-time employees are eligible for up to 6 visits; dependents are eligible for 3 visits. PT and PRN employees are eligible for 3 visits; dependents are eligible for 3 visits.
