Job Title – Surgical Coordinator

Unit – Surgical Services / Scheduling

Duration of Assignment – 8 Weeks

Location – Brighton, MA

Shift – Monday–Friday, Day Shift

Guarantee Hours – 40 Hours per Week

Salary Range – up to $27/hr

Job Duties:

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, pre-operative and follow-up appointments.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, medical staff, and outside facilities.
• Verify patient insurance and obtain required pre-authorizations.
• Collect and maintain patient demographics, procedure details, testing information, and required documentation.
• Maintain surgical logs, records, files, and daily scheduling reports.
• Manage scheduling work queues and resolve scheduling barriers or conflicts.
• Coordinate add-on cases and emergency rescheduling as needed.
• Ensure procedure preparation instructions and required paperwork are provided to patients and clinical teams.
• Assist with incoming calls, front desk coverage, faxes, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
• Previous scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance and billing processes preferred.
• Experience with EHR systems such as Meditech, Athena, or EPIC preferred.
