Job Description Location: Chicago, Illinois Business Unit: Rush Medical Center Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Chaplaincy Services Work Type : Full Time (Total FTE 1.0) Shift : Shift 1 Work Schedule : 8 Hr (8:15:00 AM - 4:45:00 PM) Pay Range : $34.89 - $56.78 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. Summary The ACPE Certified Educator exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Provides direct CPE supervision at all levels and maintains relationships with seminaries, community clergy, professional organization/s and other relevant bodies. Supports department in the provision of timely high quality interfaith spiritual care to patients, families, friends and staff. Provides in-services and student instruction, participates in research, maintains collegial relationships with other faculty/staff, and contributes to the larger community. Qualifications ACPE Certified Educator or ACPE Phase II Certified Educator Board Certification or board certified eligible for such in APC, NAJC or NACC Endorsement by faith community Graduate of Accredited aCollege/University Graduate of Accredited theological school/seminary Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred. 3-5 years of supervisory experience (Preferred) Responsibilities Provide ACPE approved supervision as negotiated with CPE faculty. Educate students on routine spiritual assessment, intervention and care for neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients as needed or assigned according to all policies and standards set forth by department guidelines. Provides 24 hours on-call as needed and/or 24 hour resource backup for CPE students. CPE Screening process: Reads applications and participates in selection interviews for incoming residents and interns. Participates in the life of the department by attending faculty and department meetings, student graduations and other events. Evaluations: Writes evaluations and maintains records for ACPE students according to current ACPE standards. CES Supervision: Supervises Clinical Pastoral Education for Certified Educator Students. Supervision of Levels I and II: Supervises Level I and Level II. Accreditation reviews: Participates in preparing for five and ten year accreditation reviews. Provides supportive care to staff as requested, and serves as resource to staff regarding religious and spiritual issues and perspectives in relation to clinical issues and decisions. Consults with hospital staff members in relationship to patient care and students. Serve as lecturer or course director in University courses. Attend morning report. Other tasks as assigned and as interest dictates. Be involved in ongoing evaluation of CPE curriculum and program. Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
